The diving qualifiers for the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships were announced.

Top teams Stanford, Texas A&M and Virginia each qualified at least one diver, as Texas had the most women qualified with four. Arizona State and Purdue each qualified three.

Texas women are knocking on the door for a top four spot and having four divers could be the key they need to get in the top four for the first time in a long time.

On the men’s side, rivals Indiana and Purdue, as well as Texas qualified the most to get in as each team got three. Indiana and Texas will be in the team race and having three divers could be the key for them to get their desired spot in the team standings.

Stanford and Texas A&M men each have two divers qualified and NC State has one, so those teams could use diving as a means of sneaking up on other schools in the overall points standings.

I thought the list of divers who will compete is more than the 35 listed here (maybe these are the only ones that will get reimbursed by the NCAA?). I see notes elsewhere about how Cal qualified two divers last week (though they are likely to be non-factor scoring-wise).
