Minnesota Invitational: Maggie MacNeil, Carson Foster Lead Top Seeds — Psych Sheet Released

The 2021 Minnesota Invitational kicks off this week from Minneapolis with several of the top college teams in the country slated to participate.

The University of Minnesota will host Michigan, Texas, Cal, Harvard, Arizona and Wisconsin at the four-day invitational, which begins Wednesday.

MINNESOTA INVITATIONAL SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

  • Wednesday, Dec. 1: 200 medley relay (finals only), 800 free relay (finals only)
  • Thursday, Dec. 2: 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 400 medley relay (finals only), 3-meter diving
  • Friday, Dec. 3: 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 200 free relay (finals only), 1-meter diving
  • Saturday, Dec. 4: 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 400 free relay (finals only), platform diving

Michigan’s Maggie MacNeil leads the way with top seeds at the Minnesota Invitational. She has the top seed in the 50 freestyle (22.30), the 100 free (48.28) and the 100 butterfly (51.22).

Michigan has the top two seeds in the 200 IM with Letitia Sim (1:57.16) and Olivia Carter (1:57.44). Sim has the top spot in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.06).

Michigan’s Kaitlynn Sims has the top spot in the 1650 free (9:42.66) ahead of Erica Sullivan (9:44.75). Michigan’s Kathryn Ackerman has the top seed in the 400 IM (4:12.33).

Texas has the top two seeds in the women’s 500 with Evie Pfeifer (4:45.12) and freshman Erica Sullivan (4:46.25), fresh off of her breakout medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Sophomore Anna Elendt has the top seed in the 100 breaststroke (59.33) ahead of Cal’s Ema Rajic (59.72). Texas sophomore Olivia Bray has the top seed in the 100 backstroke (52.78) ahead of MacNeil (52.98). Texas’ Emma Sticklen has the top spot in the 200 butterfly (1:54.46).

Cal’s Isabel Ivey has the tops seed in the 200 free (1:45.27). Cal’s Isabelle Stadden has the top spot in the 200 backstroke (1:55.55).

In the men’s Minnesota Invitational, Texas sophomore Carson Foster is the top seed in the 400 IM (3:40.12) and the 200 backstroke (1:42.04).
Texas junior Jake Foster has the top seed in the 200 IM for the men (145.90). Daniel Krueger has the top seed in the men’s 50 free (19.62) and 100 free (43.04). Cameron Auchinachie is the top seed int he 100 backstroke (47.10). David Johnston has the top seed in the 1650 free (8:57.37).

Michigan senior Will Chan has the top spot in the 100 breaststroke (52.14). Michigan freshman Gal Cohen Groumi has the top seed in the men’s 100 butterfly (46.50).

Cal freshmen Gabriel Jett (1:35.30) and Robin Hanson (1:35.70) have the top two spots in the 200 free. Reece Whitley has the top seed in the 200 breast (1:54.49).

Arizona’s Brooks Fail has the top seed in the men’s 500 free (4:19.93) and 200 butterfly (1:44.05) at the Minnesota Invitational.
