Marius Kusch Crushes NCAA Division II Record in 100 Back

Queens senior Marius Kusch followed Lapshina with another dominating performance. He won the 100 back in 45.09, absolutely crushing the Division II record in the event to win the NCAA Division II title on Friday at Indianapolis.

The previous mark was 45.88 set by Paul Pijulet of Queens last year.

Kusch was more than a second ahead of the field.

Fresno Pacific’s Iskender Baslakov was second (46.23), followed by Grand Valley State junior Harry Shalamon (46.59).

Wayne State senior Dima Drobnych was fourth in 47.04, followed by Indianapolis senior Rodrigo Codo Berti (47.11) and NMU’s Renars Bundzis (47.17).

Oklahoma Baptist’s Robinson Molina finished seventh in 47.44 and Carson-Newman’s Seth Hughes was eighth (47.73).
