Modern Biathle is a UIPM sport combining continuous Running and Swimming distances. Senior and Junior athletes are competing over 1500 run + 200 swim + 1500 run distances. Modern Biathle competitions are held nationally and internationally, including annual World Championships. 2016 Biathle World Championships will be hosted by USA Pentathlon in Orlando, FL, September 2-4, 2016.

2015 Biathle Nationals was held at the US Olympic Training in Colorado Springs on September 17. Athletes from several states, including Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, and Florida competed in this event. Swimming legends Olympic Champions Jason Lezak and Cullen Jones joined participants of Biathle Nationals before the competition (see the picture below).

For many USA Pentathlon National Team members, Biathle Nationals was the first competition in the Olympic season. It was a good test of their endurance in swimming and running. Since the competition was held in Colorado Springs at 6,035 feet above the seas level, altitude was a factor for some athletes.
