Junior National Champion Lily Christianson Verbals To NC State For 2024-25

NEW COMMIT: NC State University has received a new verbal commitment for the 2024-25 season and beyond from U.S. National Junior Teamer Lily Christianson of Osceola, Indiana.

She will join Erika Pelaez in Raleigh as a member of the Wolfpack’s Class of 2028.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“l am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at North Carolina State University. Thank you to my family, coaches, friends, and teammates for their continuous support. Also, thank you to the coaches at NC State for giving me this amazing opportunity. GO PACK!!”

Christianson does her club swimming with Irish Aquatics and placed 10th in the 50m free at Junior Pan Pac Championships. She won that event at Junior Nationals, also taking 13th in the 100m free.

Last December, she raced to 15th in the 100 free and 16th in the 50 free at Juniors East before going on to earn five gold medals at Indiana Seniors in March.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 22.14
  • 100 free – 48.57
  • 200 free – 1:49.34
  • 100 back – 54.12
  • 100 breast – 1:01.58
  • 100 fly – 54.02
  • 200 IM – 2:00.01

Currently a junior at Penn High School, Christianson won the 50 free and took second in the 100 free at the 2022 Indiana State Championships, placing first in the 50 free and second in the 100 breast during her freshman season. She’s also a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
