IOC: No On Pot

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – The International Olympic Committee is saying “No” to marijuana. The IOC moved to close the loophole created by gold-medal-winning Canadian snowboarder Ross Rebagliati at the 1998 Olympics, including marijuana and other recreational drugs on its list of prohibited substances.

Any athlete testing positive for marijuana will be disqualified. Rebagliati was originally stripped of his gold medal after testing positive for marijuana, but it was returned to him after the appeals court ruled the IOC had no clear provision for marijuana testing at the Games.
