NEW COMMIT: Florida State University has picked up a new verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from Nicholas Lee of Hillsboro, Oregon. Lee is a Junior National qualifier who excels in backstroke, freestyle and IM.

He will join Joey Curcio and Grady Bell in Tallahassee as a member of the Seminoles’ Class of 2031.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am incredibly thrilled and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career as a Seminole at Florida State University! This dream would not have been possible without the support of so many people. First, I want to thank my family for their being there every step of the way throughout my swimming journey. I am also extremely grateful to my coaches, especially Coach James, and my teammates, at Hillsboro Heat for helping me grow as both an athlete and a person. I also want to thank Coach Studd and the rest of the coaching staff at FSU for this incredible opportunity and believing in me. GO NOLES!!! #FearTheSpear”

Lee trains year-round with Hillsboro HEAT Swim Team and earned bronze in the 200 back at Juniors West in December where he also finished 18th in the 100 back. Last summer, he raced to second place in the 100m back as well as third place in the 50m back and 200m back at Sacramento Futures.
