LAUSANNE, Switzerland, November 30. FINA recently announced a pair of doping sanctions. Russian swimmer Evgeny Aleshin and Polish swimmer Lukasz Giminski both picked up two-year bans for three filing failures within an 18-month period. Aleshin has already retired from the sport.

Doping Panel Decision – Evgeny Aleshin (RUS)
On November 5th, 2010, the FINA Doping Panel held a hearing in regard to the case of Mr. Evgeny Aleshin (RUS) for violation of FINA DC Rule 2.4 – a combination of three filing failures within an eighteen-month period.
The FINA Doping Panel has decided according to FINA Rules DC 10.3.3 to impose a period of two (2) years ineligibility on the athlete. The swimmer has retired while the results management process was underway.$
All costs of this case shall be borne by the Russian Swimming Federation in accordance with DC 12.2.

On November 5th, 2010, the FINA Doping Panel held a hearing in regard to the case of Mr. Lukasz Giminski (POL) for violation of FINA DC Rule 2.4 – a combination of three filing failures within an eighteen-month period.
The FINA Doping Panel has decided according to FINA Rules DC 10.3.3 to impose a period of two (2) years ineligibility, starting on November 5th, 2010.
All costs of this case shall be borne by the Polish Swimming Federation in accordance with DC 12.2.
