NEW COMMIT: Santa Clara Swim Club’s David Noyes has verbally committed to swim for the University of the Pacific beginning in the 2018-2019 season. Noyes trains with Santa Clara’s High Performance group. He is a senior at Fremont High School. Noyes swam at Summer Juniors this year. Representing his high school last spring Noyes finished third in the 200 free and fourth in the 500 free at the CIF Central Coast Section Championships.

He explained his college decision,

“I chose University of the Pacific because of its combination of great academics and great coaching staff and team. I feel like this is a great opportunity to build a successful future. Go Tigers!”

Noyes’ best times are:

  • 200 Free 1:37.13
  • 500 Free 4:30.75
  • 200 IM 1:51.77
  • 400 IM 4:05.89
  • 100 Free 45.99
  • 50 Free 21.87

At last year’s Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships Noyes would have finished fourth in the 200 freestyle. His best 500 free time would have been good for twelfth place points. Noyes could also be a 200 IM B finalist.

His club teammate Cathy Teng has also made a verbal commitment.
