The boys of Canyons Aquatics arrived at the June Age Group Champs in Ventura, California ready to swim, downing the National Age Group record in the boys 17-18 200 free relay.

Nate Biondi (18), Zander Minano (17), Tanner Olson (18), and Adam Osowski (17) delivered a sizzling 1:33.56 to squeak past the previous record of 1:33.83.

The previous 17-18 200 free relay NAG record was set in 2014 by Colin Ellington, Seth Maslowski, Chris Kohut and Alex Carson of the Triangle Area YMCA.

Comparative splits:

  • 2017 – 23.29, 23.05, 23.36, 23.86 = 1:33.56
  • 2014 – 23.32, 23.22, 23.80, 23.49 = 1:33.83

In addition to downing the 17-18 NAG relay record, the quad also took down the 15-18 200 free relay NAG record. The previous NAG record for the 15-18 age group was a 1:33.72, set by King Aquatic Club in 2015.

Comparative splits:

  • 2017 – 23.29, 23.05, 23.36, 23.86 = 1:33.56
  • 2015 – 23.84, 23.01, 22.90, 23.97 = 1:33.72

Best sprint coach in US hands down. Coley has done it at all levels and gets minimal credit. Canyons is going to miss this type of production year after year. Good luck to him and IU! Will be fun to watch.
