JENKS – Blair Bish of the Arkansas Dolphins set a new sectional record in the men’s 100 breast final to highlight the second night of racing at the Jenks Sectionals meet at the Jenks Trojan Aquatic Center in Oklahoma.

After winning the 1000 free on night one, Flyers Aquatic’s Genevieve Pfeifer took home her second win of the meet in the women’s 200 free, topping the championship final in 1:47.81. King Marlin’s Rylee Linhardt moved up one spot from prelims to finish second in 1:49.32, while Ad Astra Area Aquatics’ Courtney Caldwell claimed third in 1:49.78.

Three swimmers finished within .11 of each other in an exciting men’s 200 free final. Sooner Swim Club’s Justin Wu took the race out fast and had a full second lead going into the final 50 before that quickly evaporated. Wu ended up out-touching Greater Omaha’s Michael Mollak at the finish, 1:39.21 to 1:39.25. Sean Tate of Swim Omaha, the top seed after prelims, wound up third in 1:39.32.

Greater Nebraska’s Olivia Calegan was in a class of her own in the women’s 100 breast final, winning by more than a second and a half in 1:02.44. Lincoln Select’s Ashley Pales swam a 1:04.02 to edge Greater Nebraska’s Dannie Dilsaver (1:04.09) for second.

In the men’s final, Blair Bish of the Arkansas Dolphins lowered the sectional record in finals with an impressive 52.95. Indie Swimming’s Michael Andrew had set the previous mark of 54.04 last year. He also took down his own pool record of 55.25 from 2013. Bish had plenty of clean water around him as Kansas City’s Anthony Albracht (56.04) and Greater Omaha’s Michael Mollak (56.28) were well behind in second and third.

CSP Tideriders’ Gabriela Vieira just missed breaking a second sectional record in the next event, posting a 54.02 to win the 100 fly. She finished a tenth outside Sam Woodward’s 2006 mark of 53.92. Razorback Aquatics’ Taylor Pike closed the gap on the final 50 but couldn’t pull ahead, finishing second in 54.29. Courtney Caldwell of Ad Astra made her way onto the podium again with a 55.22 for third.

Seven out of the eight finalists in the men’s 100 fly final cracked 50, led by Swim Omaha’s Ryan Tate in 49.28. Sooner Swim Club’s Justin Wu picked up another top two finish with a 49.51, just ahead of Sarpy County’s Ethan Shih (49.55).

After finishing second in the 200 free earlier in the night, King Marlin’s Rylee Linhardt moved up to first in the 400 IM with a 4:18.33 in finals. Linhardt and Flyers Aquatic’s Genevieve Pfeifer, the 200 free champion, flip-flopped places in IM as Pfeifer took second in 4:19.71. Greater Nebraska’s Dannie Dilsaver came in third at 4:21.32.

Thanks to the fastest breaststroke split in the entire field, Rockwood Swim Club’s Phillip Willett pulled away en route to the men’s 400 IM title with a 3:56.38. Kansas City’s Anthony Albracht stayed in contact and wound up second in 3:58.93, followed by Arkansas Dolphins’ Minki Kang in 3:59.47.
