After Superb Argentine Tango, Adam Peaty and Katya Jones Advance on Reality Dance Show

Following back-to-back weeks in which they struggled on the British reality television show, Strictly Come Dancing, Adam Peaty and professional partner Katya Jones unleashed a superb performance on Saturday night. On Sunday evening, they were the first pair announced as moving on to the next week of competition.

Performing the Argentine Tango to the Fleetwood Mac song, “Tango in the Night,” Peaty and Jones managed the third-highest score of the night with a tally of 32. The previous two weeks, Peaty and Jones were among the lowest-scoring duos. Peaty and Jones had social media abuzz with their performance. Putting together a technically sound dance, it was the passionate nature of the performance that had fans talking and the judges appreciating. Peaty and Jones captured their moment on the dance floor and, as a result, have extended their participation on the show, which airs on the BCC.

Over the summer, Peaty repeated as the champion of the 100 breaststroke at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, in addition to helping Great Britain to gold in the mixed medley relay and silver in the men’s 400 medley relay. However, he opted to bypass the International Swimming League season and challenge himself in an arena that was foreign – ballroom dancing. During his time on “Strictly Come Dancing,” Peaty has repeatedly discussed the fun he is having and his appreciation for the demands of his new sport.

Here is a video of the Argentine Tango by Peaty and Jones.
