Between a new meet record and a swim off for 16th, it was an exciting morning in the women’s 100 free. Cruising to first almost a second ahead of the field was Queens junior Polina Lapshina. She claimed the top seed with a new meet record time of 48.26.

Adding a bit from her seed time was senior Randi Darnell of WSCU. She will still go into the evening seeded second. Not far behind her and coming in third with a time of 49.46 was junior Victoria Fronville of Oklahoma Baptist.

Josephina Lorda of Queens will join her top-seeded teammate in the A final this evening. She finished fourth with a time of 49.72. Tampa sophomore Hana Van Loock took .03 off her entry time getting to the wall at a comfortable fifth (49.80).
