NEW COMMIT: Georgia Tech has received their fifth verbal pledge for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Futures qualifier Ariana Dirkzwager of Wichita, Kansas.

She will join Caroline Porterfield, Kiah SmithSabina Mrzyglod and Kendal Chunn as a member of the Yellow Jackets’ Class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am excited to announce that I will be furthering my academic and swimming career at Georgia Institute of Technology! Thanks to everyone who supported me on this crazy journey. Go Jackets!”

Dirkzwager, who trains year-round with Wichita Swim Club, most recently finaled in the 200 free at the NCSA Championships last month after earning a pair of best times at the 18&U Winter Championships in December.

In Summer 2019, she finaled in five events at Jenks Sectionals before going on to race three events at Des Moines Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 200 back – 2:04.25

Currently a junior at Wichita East High School, Dirkswager was the runner-up in both the 200 and 500 free at the Kansas 6A State Championships during her freshman season.

She will also overlap for two years with her older sister, Astrid Dirkzwager, who is wrapping up her freshman year in Atlanta.
