Georgia’s Matias Koski sat down with David Rieder of Swimming World following his second place finish in the 200 free. Koski discussed what it was like to be in a heat with Haas, who threw down a blistering 1:30.46, how he stayed in his own lane, and what it was like coming back from a disappointing 500 swim to take second in the 200. He also discusses the thought process of dropping the 1650 from his event lineup after winning the event last year, and adding the 100 free instead. He touches on the Georgia girl’s surprising and dominant win from last week and how this energy has carried the men’s team towards a possible top-5 finish.
