After an impressive night, Jack Bauerle sat down with David Rieder of Swimming World to discuss his coaching strategy throughout the meet, which showcases his utter belief in his athletes. Explaining that he conducts very few team meetings throughout the meet, Bauerle explains that oftentimes “the less you coach the better they are, if you have good kids” This strategy seems to be working, with the men in a dogfight, holding on to 5th place going into the final day. Bauerle also discusses Matias Koski’s 200 free, and what it was like to watch Texas’s Townley Haas go 1:30.46, explaining that any good coach likes to watch fast swimming.
