U.S. National Team Member Charlotte Hook Verbally Commits to Stanford for 2022

NEW COMMIT: U.S. National Team member Charlotte Hook of Raleigh, N.C., arguably one of the most sought-out recruits in her year, has announced her verbal commitment to Stanford University as a member of the Class of 2026.

She will join Lucy Bell, Natalie Mannion, Sophie Duncan, Gigi Johnson, Kristi McEnroe and Kayla Wilson in Stanford’s freshman class for the fall of 2022.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so honored and excited to officially announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Stanford University; it really is a dream come true! A huge thank you to all my coaches who have helped me reach this point and to my friends and family for their endless support. I can’t wait to be a part of such an amazing team and school!?❤️”

An extremely versatile swimmer, Hook trains year-round with TAC Titans, the same club program as Olympian Claire Curzan. At the Olympic Trials in June, she finished third in the 200m fly as well as 12th in the 200m IM. She also earned bronze in the 200m fly at the FINA World Junior Championships in 2019.

A rising senior at Cary Academy, Hook won the 100 fly and was the runner-up in the 200 IM at the NCISAA DI State Championships as a freshman.

Hook will make an immediate impact when she arrives on campus. She would’ve won the 200 fly at the 2021 Pac-12 Championships, as well as placed in the A-final in 10 other events.

Hook’s top times also would’ve scored in the A-final of the 200 fly and 200/400 IM – as well as the B-final of the 200/500 free – at the 2021 NCAA Championships. Her 200 fly is already fast enough to secure a silver medal at last year’s big dance.

Stanford’s incoming class this fall includes Aurora Roghair, Amy Tang, Anna Shaw, Samantha Tadder, Torri Huske and Meghan Lynch, as well as diver Lauren Burch.
