Long-time California coach Todd Conrad announced Monday that he is leaving his job coaching the girls team at Tesoro High School to relocate to Pennsylvania. He’ll take over as the head age-group coach with Upper Main Line YMCA.

Conrad spent eight seasons at Tesoro and was the Orange County high school coach of the year, leading the Titans to six consecutive South Coast League titles. They’ve also finished second in the CIF-SS Division I championships for three straight years.

“It was a hard decision,” Conrad told the Orange County Register, “but it’s the right move for the family. … “We’re excited to have a new adventure.”

Conrad has spent the last eight months as the director of operations for FAST and was the general manager of the Mission Viejo Natadores. The UC Irvine alum spent 14 years with the Coto Coyotes and also coached with Irvine Aquazot and Santa Margarita.

UMLY is one of the top clubs in Southeastern Pennsylvania, located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. UMLY has earned Level 2 recognition from USA Swimming and a silver medal club excellence award. Swimmers from UMLY have qualified for the last eight U.S. Olympic Team Trials. It has had seven swimmers represent the U.S. on national teams since 2002.
