NEW COMMIT: Dartmouth College has received a verbal commitment* for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier Landon Him of Berkley, Mass.

He will join Carlsbad, Calif. native Adam Ladman as a member of the Big Green’s Class of 2026.

He told Swimming World:

“I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Dartmouth College. I am excited to help continue the tradition, history and legacy of Dartmouth swimming. Dartmouth’s unique academic opportunities made my decision easy. I am grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank my family, friends and coaches for their guidance and support. Go Big Green!!”

Him, who trains with Bluefish Swim Club, most recently earned three best times at the Mizuno Atlanta Classic in May after placing 11th in the 100m fly at Plantation Sectionals in March. He also was the runner-up in the 200 fly at New England Seniors in 2019.

Him raced three events at Geneva Futures in August 2019 and was the 100m fly champion at Eastern Zone Age Groups in 2018.

His best times include:

  • 50 Fly: 22.73
  • 100 Fly: 49.53
  • 200 Fly: 1:48.37
  • 100 Back: 51.31
  • 200 Back: 1:51.30
  • 200 Free: 1:41.77
  • 200 IM: 1:53.97

Him would’ve scored in the B-final of the 200 fly at the 2020 Ivy League Championships. He also would’ve ranked No. 2 in the 200 fly and No. 3 in the 100 fly on their lineup during the 2019-20 season.

In January, the Big Green agreed to reinstate the program that it originally cut in July 2020.

*IVY LEAGUE DISCLAIMER:* A “verbal commitment” does not guarantee admission. An Ivy League coach cannot guarantee admission but can only commit support in the admissions process.
