NEW COMMIT: Texas A&M University has entered the Class of 2023 recruiting game, recently snagging an in-state verbal commitment from Olympic Trials qualifier Logan Brown of Sugar Land, Texas.

He will join his older sister, Meredith Brown, currently a freshman for the Aggies, in College Station at the start of the 2023-24 season.

He told Swimming World:

“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at Texas A&M University! I would like to thank god, my family, coaches, friends, and everyone who has helped me get to where I am today. #Gigem”

Brown, who does his club swimming with First Colony Swim Team, most recently competed at the Speedo Summer West Championships where he earned best times in all of his events and placed seventh in the 200m breast. Back in the winter, he had a great showing at the TWST Mid-Season Championship Invitational, earning lifetime bests in every race he swam and winning the 100 breast.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 54.74
  • 200 breast – 1:59.21
  • 200 IM – 1:49.16
  • 400 IM – 3:56.73

Brown is currently in his junior year at Clements High School.

Under head coach Jay Holmes, Texas A&M finished fourth in the team standings at the 2021 SEC Championships. Connor Foote and Baylor Nelson have committed to the Aggies for the fall of 2022.
