Swimming World Fall Classic Meet Preview

Attleboro Bluefish Swim Club is hosting a team specialty meet known as the “Swimming World Fall Classic” at Roger Williams University November 4-6, 2016. The format of the meet is trials/finals for 11-12 and 13 and over swimmers, and timed finals for 10-and-under swimmers. Many teams will be in attendance, including Bluefish Swim Club, Seacoast Swimming Association, The Current, Kingfish Swimming, Southern Maine Aquatic Club, and Webbs Tornadoes Swim Team.

Swimming World staff member David Rieder and intern Natalia Kaczor will be present to provide a live stream of the meet on Swimming World’s website.

Session 1 Preview: Friday Evening Distance

12&U 500 FR, 12&U 400 IM, OPEN 1000 FR

There are many standout 12-and-under swimmers in this session. Jenn Buche and Katie White lead the 12&U 500 free field by over 20 seconds. Aislin Farris leads the 400 IM field by over 12 seconds. On the boys side, Landon Him leads both the 500 free field by five seconds and 400 IM field by seven seconds.

In the OPEN 1000 free, Kate Magil is the top female seed in 10:12.63, and the top male seed is Devon Major in 9:46.93.

Sessions 2 Preview: Saturday Morning OPEN Prelims

OPEN 500 FR, OPEN 200 IM, OPEN 50 FR, OPEN 100 FL, OPEN 200 BR, OPEN 100 BK

Once again, Katie Magil is the top seed in the 500 in 4:58.57, whereas Will Barao is the top mens seed in 4:31.50. The women’s 200 IM also presents a tight field, with the top five swimmers all under 2:11. On the men’s side, the top seven swimmers are all under 2:00. The women’s 50 free boasts eight swimmers at, or under, the 25-second mark. On the men’s side, 14 swimmers are seeded below the 24-second mark.

The top seed in the women’s 100 fly is Millie Benkert, leading by almost two full seconds. River Wright leads the men’s side jsut below the 50 second mark, at 49.96. Thirteen-year-old Megan Kramer leads the women’s 200 breast field by nearly three seconds, with a 2:25.94. The men’s 200 breast has the top three seeds within one second of each other. The top three seeds in the women’s 100 back are al under the 1:00 mark. River Wright snatches another top seed in the men’s 100 back in 50.67.

Session 3 Preview: Saturday Afternoon 11-12 Prelims and 10&U Timed Finals

10&U 200 IM, 11-12 200 IM, 8&U 25 FL, 10&U 50 FR, 11-12 50 FR, 10&U 100 FL, 11-12 100 FLY, 8&U 25 BK, 10&U 50 BR, 11-12 200 BR, 10&U 100 BK, 11-12 100 BK

Courtney Rice grabs the top spot in the 10-and-under 200 IM with a 2:48.16, whereas Zach Dauphin leads the field by 12 seconds with a 2:33.33. Natalie Mannion leads the 11-12 girls with a 2:15.98, and Erik Watka leads the boys in 2:17.38. Anna Richman is seeded right below 20 seconds in 19.99 for the 8-and-under 25 fly. Henry McClelland leads the boys in 23.42. There are two girls just below the 30-second mark for the 10-and-under 50 free, but on the boys’ side, Cormac McKenney is the lone boy under 30. Megan Huntley leads the 11-12 girls in 26.57, and Landon Him leads the boys in 25.22.

In the 11-12 100 fly, Natalie Mannion owns the top time with 1:01.41, and Landom Him snatches another top time in 57.97. Young talent in the 8-and-under 25 back is brought forth by Anna Richman and Henry McClelland, both as top seeds. Courtney Rice is the lone girl to crack 40 seconds in the 50 breast; Cormac McKenney is first in 42.46. Two Bluefish swimmers lead the girls 11-12 200 breastroke by almost six seconds: Ella Smith and Ava Larkin. William Ayinon leads the boys by an astounding 13 seconds. For the 100 back, Korryn Cartwright leads the 10-and-under 100 back field by four seconds, whereas Shea Sargent leads his field by two. Natalie Mannion holds another top time in 58.94 in the 11-12 100 back. Landom Him racks up another top seed in the 11-12 100 back.

Session 5 Preview: Sunday Morning OPEN Prelims

OPEN 400 IM, OPEN 200 FR, OPEN 100 BR, OPEN 200 FLY, OPEN 100 FR, OPEN 200 BK

In the female 400 IM, the top five swimmers are below the 4:38 mark. Will Barao leads the men in 4:00.65. There are 11 females under the 2:00 mark in the 200 free. Will Barao leads the 200 free as well, in a comfortable 1:40.32. Emma Bridges and Eunice Yang take the top two 100 breast seeds, within 0.06 seconds of each other. River Wright grabs another top seed in the 100 breast as the only male under 1:00, with a time of 57.66.

Millie Benkert leads the 200 fly field by almost seven seconds. Yet again, River Wright steals the top spot in the 200 fly with a 1:51.35. The top three female seeds in the 100 free are within 0.19 seconds of each other. On the men’s side, Willi Barao steals the spotliht again, this time in 47.80. Gianna Spremullo leads the 200 back in 2:05.37. Harry Homans and Keda Song are seperated by 0.01 to take the top two spots, in 1:50.65 and 1:50.66, respectively.

Korryn Cartwright grabs another top seed in the 10-and-under 200 free in 2:28.39. Cormac McKenney grabs another 11-12 top seed with 2:24.63. Ava Larkin steals the 11-12 200 free top time in 2:02.94. Landom Him is the only 11-12 boy under 2:00, in 1:58.89. Five 8-and-under girls are under the 20-second mark in the 25 free. Seven-year-old Luca Guerra is the top boys seed in 19.01. Four 10-and-under girls are under 1:40 in the 100 breast. Ava Larkin steals another top seed in the 11-12 100 breast in 1:10.40. Landon Him lands on top again, this time in the 11-12 100 breast in 1:15.24. Korryn Cartwright is on top again in the 10-and-under 50 fly in 34.03. Cormac McKenney leads the 50 ly by nearl four seconds, in 33.53.

Aislin Farris leads the 11-12 200 fly field by a substansial 21 seconds, and Erik Watka leads the boys by nearly 23. Four 8-and-under girls dip under :30 in the 25 breast. Johnny Nawrocki leads the boys by five seconds. Korryn Cartwight runs away with another top spot in the 100 free with 1:05.70. Yet again, Korryn Cartwright leads in 1:05.80. Three 11-12 girls are sub 1:00 in the 100 free, and five 11-12 boys are as well. With another top seed, Korryn Cartwright steals it with 35.00 in the 10-and-under 50 back. On the 10-and-under boys’ side, five swimmers dip below 40 seconds in the same event. Aislin Farris boasts a 10.5 second lead in the 11-12 200 back. Erik Watka leads the 11-12 boys by an even more impressive 36 seconds.
