Stanford Lands 2023 Verbal From Junior Pan Pacs Team Member Henry McFadden

NEW COMMIT: Stanford University has received a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2023 from Henry McFadden of Haddonfield, New Jersey. He’s one of the top mid-distance freestylers in his class.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am super excited to announce my commitment to study and swim at Stanford University! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, and teachers for helping me along the way. I can’t wait for this next step on the farm! Go Card!!???

McFadden qualified for the 2022 U.S. Junior Pan Pacs Team after being the top U-18 finisher in the 200-meter free at the Phillips 66 International Team Trials. His time of 1:49.57 ranked 10th all-time in the boys’ 15-16 age group.

He does his club swimming with Jersey Wahoos and placed fifth in both the 200 free and 500 free at Juniors East back in December.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 21.13
  • 100 free – 44.27
  • 200 free – 1:35.80
  • 500 free – 4:22.92
  • 1000 free – 9:15.08
  • 1650 free – 15:57.04
  • 100 fly – 47.95
  • 200 fly – 1:44.82

McFadden is a rising senior at Haddonfield Memorial High School. He won the 200/500 free as a junior at the New Jersey Meet of Champions, placing second and fourth, respectively, in those events during his freshman season.

He’s the first public verbal commitment for the Cardinal’s Class of 2027.
