Roman Mityukov twice topped the podium on day two of the Geneva International to continue his winning form.

The Swiss swimmer – who won bronze at the European Championships in Budapest in 2021 – appeared first in the 200 back and led by 0.22 from Michele Lamberti after the first 50, a lead he extended throughout to win in 1:58.28.

Mityukov was the only man inside 2mins with Lamberti second, more than 5secs adrift in 2:03.39.

He returned to win the 50 free in the final event of the day in 23.14.

It was a third victory of the meet so far for Mityukov who won the 100 free double on Friday in 22.84 and 49.34 respectively.

Gabriele Detti set a championship record of 3:51.46 in the men’s 400 free, slicing 1.69secs from the previous mark of 3:53.15 held by Britain’s David Davies since January 2007.

The Italian was also second in the 1500 free, clocking 15:25.99 behind Damien Joly who won in 15:19.30.

Evelyn Davis won the 50/100 free double with victories in 25.75 and 56.04 respectively.
