NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Lily Cramer of Ann Arbor, Mich. has announced her verbal commitment to Rice University beginning in the fall of 2022.

She will join Lily Elayi and Mia Nagle of Copley, Ohio, as a member of the Owls’ Class of 2026.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Rice University. An enormous thank you to my family, coaches, and friends for all of your support. Go Owls!?”

A talented breaststroker and IMer, Cramer does her club swimming with Club Wolverine and most recently earned four best times at Elkart Sectionals in March where her highest finish was a fifth-place showing in the 400m IM. She finaled in four events at Cleveland Sectionals in July 2019 after winning the 100 breast at the Michigan Open in March 2019.

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:03.66
  • 200 breast – 2:19.09
  • 200 IM – 2:04.17
  • 400 IM – 4:28.56

Currently a junior at Pioneer High School, Cramer is a four-time individual Michigan DI State Championship finalist. She finished fifth in the 200 IM and eighth in the 100 breast in 2021 while taking third and sixth, respectively, in those events during her rookie season.

She has also earned NISCA All-American honors for her efforts in the pool and in the classroom.

Even with over a year to go before arriving on campus, Cramer will make a big impact for the Owls. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM, and 400 IM at the 2021 Conference USA Championships where Rice was the team runner-up.
