Ready. GO!  The words heard echoing over the splash of swimmers at Orange Bowl Winter Training at Jacobs Aquatic Center in Key Largo, FL.  As a sanction event with the Orange Bowl, the 2019-2020 season will be the 17th Annual Orange Bowl Swim Classic and Winter Training.  Winter training begins December of each year and runs through January.  Universities from around the country and abroad come to train during winter break from school.  Training times are two-hour blocks which begin at 6AM and end at 10PM.  For many, the positive change of environment, escape of cold climate, and simply swimming outdoors make the trip a memorable experience.  Annually, the Orange Bowl Swim Classic is in January and is free.  The Swim Classic Meet is a fun sprint style line-up lasting about 2 hours.  Sponsors host a free post meet lunch where athletes and staff enjoy a meal and social time with other teams. The attraction to this destination is the state-of-art, premier facility at Jacobs Aquatic Center featuring 25 meter Myrtha pool with 8 lanes (9 feet wide); wave eater lane lines; 2 one-meter boards, 1 three-meter board; dry board area with trampoline and rigging; and auxillary heater to assure perfect water temperatures in case of cool air temperatures.  Additionally, one meal for each team training is community sponsored to show the community’s appreciation for your participation.
