Olympic Gold Medalist Kathleen Baker Announces Engagement

Kathleen Baker, 2016 Olympic gold medalist in the medley relay, and former world record holder, announced her engagement.

Baker, 23, made the announcement on social media, posting, “WOAH WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!!!! Love me some Sean.” She posted pictures from the coast in her home state of North Carolina.

Baker, from Winston Salem, North Carolina, won silver in the 100 backstroke in Rio, then won silver in the 100 backstroke and bronze in the 200 backstroke at the 2017 World Championships.

After making the 2016 Rio Olympics, Baker’s aimed to make the Tokyo Olympic Games, but a fractured foot suffered in early May kept her from competing at her healthiest and best at the Olympic trials in Omaha.
