As the NCAA season picks up momentum, here is another look at the NCAA Division I Championships qualifying standards, and while several races are the same as last year, there are a few differences, mostly with the automatic “A” cuts.

On the women’s side, the “A” cuts for the 100 and 200 breaststroke events are slightly faster, while the men’s 100 and 200 backstroke events are slightly faster (0.01 and 0.03, respectively). The men’s 400 free is also two tenths faster, while the 100 butterfly is nine hundredths faster.

As for relays, the qualifying standard is slightly different in all of the men’s relays and the women’s 400 free relay.

Last year, in the women’s meet, Virginia won the NCAA championship for the first time in school history. It was the first time an ACC team had won the meet. Meanwhile, Texas reclaimed the NCAA men’s championship to give coach Eddie Reese a 15th title.

Here are the standards.
