Ross Murdoch

Ross Murdoch and Kara Hanlon both completed a clean sweep of the breaststroke events on the final night of the Scottish National Short-Course Championships in Edinburgh.

Murdoch, the 2014 Commonwealth champion, won the 200m in 2mins 03.71secs ahead of University of Stirling team-mate and two-time Olympian Craig Benson to add to the 50m and 100m breaststroke crowns he had already claimed.

It has been a successful campaign for Murdoch who set new Scottish records en-route to gold in the 50m and 100m.

Not to be outdone, Hanlon won the 100m in 1:07.02 to round out a trio of victories ahead of Edinburgh University team-mate Katie Robertson with Chloe Tutton of Bath National Centre third.

Hanlon wasn’t done though as she returned to the water to take the 100IM gold in 1:03.23 following a strong second half to the race.

Mark Szaranek also rounded off a golden week with another trip to the top step of the podium after he added the 200IM crown to his 400IM and 200m butterfly titles in 1:53.54, ahead of Tom Dean (1:54.32) of Bath National Centre.
