NEW COMMITS: Four-time U.S. Open qualifier Cade Oliver of Trafalgar, Ind. has announced his verbal intention to continue his academic and swimming career at the University of Missouri beginning in the fall of 2021.

Primarily a backstroker and IMer, Oliver swims year-round with Franklin Regional Swim Team and recently placed 17th in the 100 back at Juniors East in December. This past summer, he recorded seven best times at Indiana LCM Seniors before going on to finish 10th in the 100m back at Junior Nationals.

A current junior at Franklin Community High School, Oliver is already a four-time Indiana State Championship finalist. He finished eighth in the 200 IM and 10th in the 100 back during his sophomore season while taking seventh in the 500 free and eighth in the 200 IM as a freshman.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am proud to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and educational careers at the University of Missouri! I am so thankful to my family, friends, and coaches that have lead me to this point! I’m excited to join my brothers, sisters, and coaches at Mizzou! #GoTigers!”

His best times include:

  • 50 back – 23.68
  • 100 back – 49.25
  • 200 back – 1:45.28
  • 200 IM – 1:51.08
  • 400 IM – 3:55.14

Oliver will add valuable backstroke and IM depth to the Tigers’ lineup when he arrives in Columbia as a member of the class of 2025. Although he’s not in scoring range just yet at the SEC Championship level, he has consistently made improvements each season and will have two years of overlap with Ben Patton and one with Jack Dahlgren and Danny Kovac.
