Long Reach Swim Club’s Madigan Saunders Commits to Merrimack College

NEW COMMIT: Sprint freestyler Madigan Saunders of Bath, Maine, has announced her commitment to Merrimack College and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2020.

Her best times include:

50 free – 26.17
100 free – 57.76

Saunders does her club swimming with Long Reach Swim Club and earned numerous best times at the Maine Junior Olympic Championships in 2017. Also competing for Mount Ararat High School, Saunders is a six-time Maine State Championship qualifier. She finished seventh in the 100 free and ninth in the 50 free as a senior, 21st and 15th as a junior, and 34th and 23rd in those events during her sophomore season.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m thrilled to announce that I have signed to Division 1 Merrimack College Women’s Swim Team! I can’t believe that I will finally be able to achieve this goal, and reach my academic goals as well. I’m extremely thankful to my parents, Jay Morissette, Brian Savage, Steve Butts, Tracy Boucher, and Coach Erin Cammann! Can’t wait to see what the future holds. Go Warriors!”
