Lindsey Drumm, Carly Joerin Verbally Commit to Admission Process at Dartmouth

NEW COMMITS: Dartmouth College has received two new verbal commitments* for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Hinsdale, Illinois native Lindsey Drumm and Carly Joerin of Tampa, Florida.

In January, the Big Green agreed to reinstate the program that it originally cut in July 2020.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Dartmouth College to continue my athletic and academic careers. A huge thank you to my family, coaches, and teammates for making this possible for me. Go Big Green!!!!”

Drum trains year-round with FMC Aquatic Club and most recently placed sixth in the 100m fly at the Illinois Long Course Senior Championships where she earned a pair of best times. She also finished 12th in the 200m fly and 16th in the 100m fly at Pleasant Prairie Sectionals in July.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 55.78
  • 200 fly – 2:05.41
  • 50 free – 24.39
  • 100 free – 51.75
  • 200 free – 1:53.51
Also competing for Fenwick High School, Drumm won both the 100 fly and 200 free at the IHSA Leyden Sectional meet during her junior season. She placed 18th in the 100 fly at the IHSA State Championships as a sophomore after taking 22nd in that event in 2018.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to the application process at Dartmouth! I chose Dartmouth because of the outstanding academic opportunities, amazing swim program, welcoming team, and spectacular coaches. I would not be where I am today without the endless support of my family, friends, and coaches. Go Big Green!!”

Joerin does her club swimming with Tampa Elite Aquatics and earned a pair of lifetime bests at the Last Splash Invite in July after taking 12th in the 400m IM at the TYR 18&U Spring Cup – Orlando. She also raced to fifth in the 1500m free at the Southern Zone Sectional Championships back in February.

Her best times include:

  • 1650 free – 17:04.80
  • 1000 free – 10:08.90
  • 500 free – 5:00.89
  • 400 IM – 4:24.49
  • 200 IM – 2:07.47

Currently a senior at Freedom High School, Joerin is a five-time individual Florida 3A State Championship finalist. She finished seventh in the 200 free and 11th in the 500 free as a junior while taking 15th in the latter during her sophomore campaign.
