Many colleges are still garnering up late verbal commitments from swimmers across the country. Haley Synan of the Greater Holyoke YMCA Viking Swim Team sent her verbal commitment to the Le Moyne College Dolphins this past Friday. Synan also swims for her high school, the Belchertown Orioles. Her coach for both teams is Nicholas Provost.

Last year at the Western Massachusetts Sectional Championship she placed third in the 200 free and fourth in the 500 free. At the Massachusetts MIAA Division 2 State Championships, she placed fifth in the 500 free and seventh in the 200 free. Synan is also a 2017 YMCA Short Course National Championship qualifier.

Her best times are listed below:

  • 200 yard freestyle: 1:59.42
  • 500 yard freestyle: 5:16.77
  • 1000 yard freestyle: 11:06.49
  • 100 yard butterfly: 1:00.82
  • 200 yard butterfly: 2:11.38

Synan said of her decision,

“My first impression of Le Moyne was that the students, faculty, and staff were all extremely nice. On my recruiting trip, the team was very welcoming to me! Go Phins!”
