Junior National Qualifier Lauren Bernardo Gives 2024 Verbal To LSU

NEW COMMIT: Louisiana State University has earned a new verbal commitment for the 2024-25 season and beyond from Lauren Bernardo of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic careers at Louisiana State University. I would like to thank my family and friends for their unwavering support, and all of my coaches throughout my swim career for believing in me and helping me to achieve swimming D1 a reality! GEAUX, TIGERS”

Bernardo does her club swimming with SwimMAC Carolina and earned two best times at Juniors East last month. Last summer, she placed 21st in the 100m back at Cary Futures before going on to race three events at Junior Nationals.

Her best times include:

100 back – 56.06
200 back – 1:59.86
100 fly – 57.43
200 IM – 2:02.64
400 IM – 4:27.02

Currently a junior at Charlotte Catholic High School, Bernardo placed 11th in the 100 back at the 2022 North Carolina 4A State Championships after winning that event at the Southwestern 4A Conference Championships.
