Georgia 6A Bronze Medallist Elizabeth Isakson Will Stay In State with 2022 Verbal to UGA

NEW COMMIT: The University of Georgia has received their second early verbal commitment from local product Elizabeth Isakson of Marietta, Ga.

She will join fellow in-state standout Emma Norton as a member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so excited and blessed to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Georgia!! This is a dream come true and I’m so grateful to the UGA coaching staff for giving me this opportunity. I also want to thank my family, friends, and coaches for their continuous support in the pool and the classroom. I cannot wait to be a part of this incredible program. GO DAWGS!!”

A Futures qualifier, Isakson trains year-round with Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club and finished eighth in the 100 breast and ninth in the 200 IM at Georgia Seniors last December. In Summer 2019, she earned two best times at Greensboro Futures and competed at NCSAs in March 2019.

Her best times include:

  • 200 IM – 2:06.71
  • 100 breast – 1:04.64
  • 50 free – 24.11
  • 100 free – 52.97

Currently a junior at Walton High School, Isakson is already a four-time individual Georgia 6A State Championship finalist. She secured bronze in the 100 breast and placed sixth in the 200 IM as a sophomore while taking sixth in the 50 free and 10th in the 100 free during her freshman season.

Georgia finished fourth overall in the team standings at the 2020 SEC Championships, just 1.5 points behind Kentucky.

The Bulldogs are bringing in a large and talented Class of 2025 that includes Hailey Hicks, Angharad Evans, Ava KennedyBriana RobersonHailey GalbraithDuné CoetzeeMia AbruzzoLily GardnerMary MartinElsa Fretz and Rachel Stege.
