Florida 3A State Champion Madison Feehery Gives Verbal Pledge to Fighting Irish for 2021

NEW COMMIT: The University of Notre Dame has added another verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier Madison Feehery of Naples, Fla.

She will join Annie Behm, Madelyn Christman, Ana HercegJess GerianeMadeline MenkhausSophia KarrasMary Cate Pruitt and Maggie Graves as a member of the Fighting Irish’s class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m so grateful and excited to announce my commitment to continue my education and swimming career at the University of Notre Dame! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, teachers, and teammates for supporting me in and out of the water. I can’t wait to be a part of such an incredible team and a member of the ND family! GO IRISH?”

A versatile swimmer, Feehery does her club swimming with T2 Aquatics and raced the 50 free and 100 fly at Juniors East in December. Last summer, she recorded five best times at Gainesville Speedo Sectionals before going on to final in the 100m fly at Greensboro Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.00
  • 100 free – 52.24
  • 100 breast – 1:05.49
  • 200 breast – 2:25.32
  • 100 fly – 55.41

Also competing for Barron Collier High School, Feehery is a four-time Florida 3A State Championship finalist. She won the 50 free and was the 100 fly runner-up as a junior while taking third in the 50 free and 11th in the 100 breast during her sophomore season.

Under head coach Michael Litzinger, the Fighting Irish finished fifth overall in the team standings at the 2020 ACC Championships.
