The entry lists are out for the three stages of the Mare Nostrum tour which starts with a two-day meet in Monaco on Saturday 21 May.

The series moves on to Barcelona (25-26 May) and concludes in Canet, France, on 28-29 May.

Olympic champion Lydia Jacoby goes in the 100br where she will meet Sophie Hansson who was sixth in Tokyo last July.

Sarah Sjostrom goes in the 50 free and 50 fly while Siobhan Haughey contests the 50, 100 and 200 free, the Hong Kong swimmer winning double Olympic silver in the latter two races.

The men’s 50 free promises to be a scorcher featuring Tokyo silver and bronze medallists Florent Manaudou and Bruno Fratus as well as Michael Andrew, 0.02 behind the Brazilian last year.

Andrew faces Olympic silver medallist Arno Kamminga in the 100br with the Netherlands swimmer  going for a clean sweep of the breaststroke races.

The USA athlete will also feature in the backstroke and butterfly sprints.

Matt Sates – who announced his introduction on the international stage at the World Cup in late 2021 – features in the 200/400 free and the IM.

The tour moves on to Spain where contingents from Japan, Canada and Britain make an appearance among them Penny Oleksiak, Kylie Masse, Tom Dean, James Guy and Ryosuke Irie.

Kristof Milak – the Olympic 200 fly champion – will face fellow Tokyo medallists Federico Burdisso and Noe Ponti as well as Chad Le Clos.

Kamminga will take on Tokyo bronze medallist Nicolo Martinenghi in the 100br – as well as the sprint – with the pair favourites to do battle for top spot at next month’s World Championships in the absence of Adam Peaty with injury.

Also competing are Arianna Castiglioni, Simona Quadarella, Margherita Panziera, Melanie Henique and Marie Wattel.

The tour comes to an end in the South of France with Manaudou absent from the 50 free where Ben Proud, Fratus and Andrew are among those doing battle.

Yui Ohashi is registered in the 200 and 400IM in which she won double Olympic gold
