NEW COMMIT: The University of Michigan has received a new verbal commitment for their Class of 2026 from Charlotte, N.C. native Logan Zucker.

He will join Lucas Hodgson of Riverside, Conn. in Ann Arbor in the fall of 2022.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swim career at the university of Michigan! Thank you to all of my friends, family, and coaches who have helped me get to where I am today. Go blue!”

Zucker does his club swimming with SwimMAC Carolina and was the runner-up in the 500 free at Cary Sectionals in March where he recorded four best times. He also placed 13th in the mile at Juniors East in December and finished third in that event at the Southern Premier Invitational in March 2019.

In summer 2019, he recorded five top-8 finishes at North Carolina LCM Seniors before going on to place 13th in the 1500m free and 19th in the 400m IM at Junior Nationals.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 20.82
  • 100 free – 45.67
  • 200 free – 1:37.99
  • 500 free – 4:26.11
  • 1000 free – 9:23.04
  • 1650 free – 15:32.73
  • 100 fly – 49.11
  • 200 IM – 1:51.95
  • 400 IM – 3:53.34

Currently a junior at Davidson Day School, Zucker is already a four-time individual NCISAA DIII State Championships finalist. He won the 100 fly and was the runner-up in the 500 free as a sophomore while taking first in the 200 IM and second in the 500 free during his freshman season.

He has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors.

With names like Felix Auboeck and Ricardo Vargas, along with a slew of others, Michigan is no stranger to producing distance greats. Zucker will have two years of overlap with current first-years Wyatt Davis and Jake Mitchell when he suits up for the Wolverines at the start of the 2022-23 season.
