Carson Foster Discusses Several Topics On Inside With Brett Hawke Podcast

This summer, Carson Foster will chase a world title in the 400-meter individual medley, and also see action in the 200 medley and as a member of the United States’ 800 freestyle relay. The University of Texas star recently joined the Inside With Brett Hawke Podcast to discuss his career, and the upcoming summer opportunities.

Last summer, Foster narrowly missed qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, a third-place finish in the 400 IM leaving him one spot shy of a bid. However, the youngster responded to his disappointment by clocking the fastest time in the world in the event at a Sectionals meet. The momentum generated from that swim carried into the collegiate season and the recent USA Swimming International Team Trials. All of those points are covered in Foster’s interview with Hawke, a two-time Australian Olympian who has built his podcast into a must-listen entity.

During his discussion with Hawke, Foster talks about Michael Phelps’ world record of 4:03 in the 400 medley, a global standard that is considered one of the most difficult to take down. Foster also goes into detail on some of his training sets and expectations for this summer’s World Championships in Budapest.
