NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Olena Sadovska of Broadview Heights, Ohio, has opted to remain in-state for her college career after pledging her verbal commitment to the Buckeyes.

She will join Claire Pophal, Lucy MalysSydney DavidsJessica Eden and Sanna Peterson in Columbus at the start of the 2022-23 season.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so proud and BEYOND excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at THE Ohio State University!! I am so thankful for my family, coaches, and friends that have been a part of this crazy journey! Go Bucks! #Buckeye ?❤”

A talented breaststroker, Sadovska does her club swimming with Cleveland Swim Institute and most recently placed 22nd in the 100m breast and 28th in the 200m breast at the Speedo Summer Championships – East after taking sixth in the 50m breast at Geneva Sectionals. She earned gold in the 100 breast and silver in the 200 breast at Lake Erie Seniors in March before going on to notch four lifetime bests at Elkhart Sectionals.

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:02.14
  • 200 breast – 2:16.37

Also competing for Breckville Broadview Heights High School, Sadovska was the 100 breast runner-up at the Ohio State Championships during her junior season.

Sadovska is a great pickup for the Buckeyes as they look to rebuild their breaststroke group. She would’ve ranked fifth in the 200 breast and sixth in the 100 breast on their lineup last season. Ohio State won the 2021 Big Ten Championships and placed seventh at NCAAs.
