Bellingham Bay Swim Team’s Bella Cratsenberg Commits to New Mexico State University

NEW COMMIT: New Mexico State University has landed a new commitment for the fall of 2021 from Bellingham, Wash. native Bella Cratsenberg.

She will join Emilee Ferrari of Annandale, Va. as a member of the Aggies’ Class of 2025.

She told Swimming World:

“I chose NMSU because of the outstanding coaches and the extremely positive team environment!”

A talented freestyler and IMer, Cratsenberg trains year-round with Bellingham Bay Swim Team and last competed at the Washington Open in January where she swam away with a best time in the 50 free. She also had a trio of top-14 finishes at Pacific Northwest Seniors last December after nothing three PBs at the Husky Invitational.

Her best times include:

100 free- 52.43
200 free – 1:52.79
200 IM – 2:08.70

In Summer 2019, Cratsenberg placed 10th in the 800m free and 13th in the 100m free at Pacific Northwest LCM Seniors en route to achieving four lifetime bests. She is currently a senior at Bellingham High School where she holds a 3.9 GPA.

When she suits up for the Aggies at the start of the 2021-22 season, Cratsenberg will add valuable depth both individually and on freestyle relays. She will add her talents to a training group that’ll include Neza Kocijan, Airam Oliva-Aun, and Aimee Burton.

Under head coach Rick Pratt, New Mexico State finished fourth overall in the team standings at the 2020 Western Athletic Conference Championships.
