Arizona State Earns Verbal Pledge From Distance Ace Bryce Rohr

NEW COMMIT: Aldie, Virginia native Bryce Rohr, A US Open qualifier, has announced his verbal commitment to Arizona State University beginning in Fall 2024.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m really excited to announce my verbal commitment to Arizona State University where I’ll be continuing my academic and swim career. Thanks to all the ASU coaches, especially coaches Bowman, Behm, and Hirka for their time and guidance on this journey. And, a huge thanks to my family, teammates, and coaches that helped me get to this point. Go Sun Devils!”

A talented distance freestyler, Rohr does his club swimming with Nation’s Capital Swim Club and most recently won both the 500 free and mile at the Potomac Valley Senior Championships. He placed 10th in the 1500m free at the US Open last fall and took fourth in that event at NCSAs in the summer.

His best times include:

  • 500 free – 4:28.88
  • 1000 free – 9:09.47
  • 1650 free – 15:27.08

Currently a junior at John Champe High School, Rohr took third in the 500 free and fifth in the 200 free at the Virginia Class 6A State Championships the other week. He earned bronze in the 500 free as a sophomore, too.

The Sun Devils are coming off their first Pac-12 title in program history.
