NEW COMMIT: Cornell University has picked up a new addition for the Class of 2026 after receiving a verbal commitment* from U.S. Open qualifier Lindsay McCormack of San Francisco, Calif.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Cornell University! I am so grateful for my family, coaches, teammates, and friends who have helped me get here! It is a dream come true! Go Big Red!”

A talented breaststroker, McCormack trains year-round with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics and most recently earned a best time at the CPAC July Senior Invite last month. She also placed 15th in the 100 breast at Juniors West in 2019 and competed at Mount Hood Futures that summer.

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:02.42
  • 200 breast – 2:18.70
  • 50 free – 24.46

A rising senior at Saint Ignatius Prep School, McCormack placed fifth in the 100 breast and 12th in the 50 free at the CSC Championships this past season. She raced to seventh in the 100 breast at the CIF Central Coast Section Championships during her freshman season.

McCormack is a great pickup for the Big Red both individually and on relays. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100 breast as well as the B-final of the 200 breast at the 2020 Ivy League Championships.
