German poolside announcer died on Monday

BERLIN, Germany, 29 April. JUST a few days before the start of German Nationals in Berlin, Germany, the local swim community received news of the death of Kai Steinbrunn, popular poolside announcer and host of all sorts of National meets.

Steinbrunn has been a constant voice at the side of pools up and down the country, providing the crowds at smaller local meets and International competitions alike, proving to be a source of facts about the sport and the athletes. He was popular amongst swimmers and officials of the German Swim Association DSV.

Steinbrunn died on Monday with the news breaking today. Condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
