This means that not only are Le Clos and Hosszu almost guaranteed an extra $50,000 each for winning the Asian cluster, moving Hosszu to nearly $250,000 in earnings and Le Clos up to about $200,000, they both are in line for $100,000 overall points leader checks as well.

That means Hosszu is likely to win at least $350,000 for her time on the tour, plus another $5-10,000 in race winnings from Beijing, while Le Clos will be in line for $300,000 in winnings with another $5-7,000 in race winnings in Beijing as well.

It’s an astonishing amount of money for the top winners this year as FINA begins to heavily invest in the World Cup as the top professional swimming circuit in the history of the sport.
