Canada’s Big Splash Awards Week Set for Late November

OTTAWA, Ontario, October 30. SWIMMING Canada’s annual awards will be taking on a new format this year, and fans will once again have the opportunity to have their say.

The 2013 Big Splash Awards Week will be a weeklong celebration of Canada’s best swimmers and their accomplishments throughout the year. Swimming Canada will be announcing a number of awards including six major individual awards between Nov. 22 and 29.

Award categories to be announced during the 2013 Big Splash Awards Week include:

2013 OMEGA Male and Female Swimmers of the Year
*
2013 Team Aquatic Supplies Para-Swimming Male and Female Swimmers of the Year
*
Open Water Swimmer of the Year

Top coaches in each of the above categories will also be recognized.

The popular People’s Choice Race of the Year award returns in 2013. Nominees and details on the voting process will be announced soon.

These major awards will be announced on a variety of radio and/or television programs during the week. More details on these announcements will be released in the coming weeks.
