PARIS, France, July 17. YANNICK Agnel will swim the 200 free at the world championships in Barcelona, reversing on a previous announcement he made earlier this year.

In an interview with the French TV station MYTF1, Agnel said he made the decision to return to the 200 free after a conversation with his new coach, Bob Bowman. He'll still race the freestyle relays at worlds, and now adds a new dimension to the 200 freestyle.

Agnel won the 200 free in the London Olympics by more than a body length last year, posting the sole time under 1:44 in the final. The two men who tied for bronze last year, Tae-Hwan Park and Sun Yang, will not be in the 200 freestyle in Barcelona.

Agnel originally stepped away from the individual 200 freestyle when he began searching for a new training location last spring after a falling out with longtime coach Fabrice Pellerin.
