SANTA CLARA, California, June 21. FRESNO’s Cheyenne Coffman pulled off a lifetime best in the women’s 50-meter free at the Arena Grand Prix in Santa Clara.

Coffman chased down the title in 25.12, clearing her previous best of 25.16 from the Mesa stop of the Grand Prix in April. Coffman continues to grow into the sport as a post-grad, having been one of the top NAIA swimmers of all time while competing at Fresno Pacific collegiately.

SwimMAC’s Madison Kennedy, who posted a 13th-ranked 24.78 in Charlotte, took second tonight in 25.23, while Carmel’s Amy Bilquist grabbed third in 25.32. First Colony’s Simone Manuel checked in with a fourth-place 25.44.

Stanford’s Maddy Schaefer (25.52), WCAB’s Kasey Carlson (25.70), Bulldogs’ Megan Romano (25.74), Wisconsin’s Ivy Martin (25.78) and Stanford’s Felicia Lee (26.02) also competed in the championship splash-and-dash.

Lia Neal powered her way to victory in the B final with a 25.93, while Bruins’ Linnea Mack placed second in 25.99. Tucson Ford’s Margo Geer claimed third in 26.03.

California’s Kaylin Bing (26.05), BGSC’s Rhi Jeffrey (26.21), Wisconsin’s Chase Kinney (26.26), Bolles’ Kasey Schmidt (26.34), PASA’s Karlee Bispo (26.59) and Missouri’s Anna Patterson (26.66) also checked in with B final swims.
