SANTA CLARA, California, June 19. POSTING a 1500 freestyle that nearly broke 16 minutes surprised Lotte Friis, and in this video interview from Santa Clara, she talks about the training she put in at altitude to be ready for European championships.

Friis is excited about being a part of North Baltimore’s elite squad, especially because she’s among a group of American swimmers that pushes her harder in workouts. Swimming World’s Tiffany Elias broke the news to Friis about Katie Ledecky’s world record in the 1500 freestyle, and Friis talks about the work she has to put in to stay near the top of the world rankings in the next two years leading up to the 2016 Olympics.

More video interviews will be available throughout the weekend on SwimmingWorld.TV!
