Justine Mueller to Appear at NDPA Educational Conference

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, March 20. U.S. National Team member Justine Mueller (Monroe, Mich.) will be a USA Swimming athlete representative at the National Drowning Prevention Alliance Educational Conference, which runs from March 19-21 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort in Orlando, Fla.

“I am honored to be the National Team Representative at the National Drowning Prevention Alliance Conference in Orlando,” said Mueller. “This initiative provides a venue to the children of America to first, learn water safety, and second, continue their learning in a swim school environment. Swimming is not just a sport, but a lifesaving skill that everyone should have access to learn.”

On Friday, Mueller will be speaking on behalf of the USA Swimming Foundation, while also sharing insights on the SwimToday program. The 2013 U.S. Open gold medalist will also sign autographs and pose for pictures.

Multiple keynote speakers will also be in attendance to address various aspects of swimming safety and education including Chuck Wieglus, executive director of USA Swimming and chief executive officer of the USA Swimming Foundation.
With the mission “to prevent drowning and aquatic injuries by educating, leading, engaging and supporting the public, members, chapters, and partners” the NDPA is an organization that strives to sustain drowning for individuals of all ages and in all types of bodies of water.

Muellers’ appearance at the NDPA Educational Conference is part of USA Swimming’s Athlete Partnership Program. The program is a platform for a National Team swimmer to encourage kids and adults to take up the sport as a healthy and positive activity.
