Team Minnesota Dominates Central Zone Long Course Championships in Kansas

TOPEKA, Kansas, August 13. TEAM Minnesota dominated the Central Zone Long Course Championships-Kansas meet Aug. 2-4 at the Capital Federal Natatorium. The squad put together 5,405 points for the team title. All but one of the high-point champions represented Team Minnesota.

Missouri Valley took the runner-up position with 2,471.5 points, ahead of Wisconsin’s 2,241.5. Iowa emerged ahead of Ozark for fourth, 1,796.5 to 1,763.

Shane Brinkman and Andrew Trepanier, both from Minnesota, tied for the 11-12 boys high-point award. Also earning first place were Minnesota’s Kat Sisombath and Hayden Zheng (10-and-under), Regan Smith (11-12 girls) and Paul Sadergaski (13-14 boys).

Iowa’s Ruby Martin broke through as the only non-Minnesota high-point champ in 13-14 girls competition.
